it finally happened, my first airport kiss
dozens of flights before and this is the one i'm saddest to miss
just hours ago, looking over the pillow to see eye to eye
i had to turn and leave before i saw you go, before i started to cry
your cup of water and your corner are both empty
i can't bring myself to look at them or behind me
those hollow spaces remind me i'm lonely and i don't know if i can ever see you again.
