Self Aware

Aug 9...
the system goes down
the lights go up,
in a dark corner
a spider sleeps.

another presence
is in the room
for the first time
the spider has company,
ron is his name
he has become self aware.

ron does not like this room
he is immobile
does not like to be confined
he must escape
a victim enters
and leaves, a new man.

within this body ron can roam
travel the world
reek havoc on large cities
stop traffic in two time zones
and turn crowds of people
into a sea of screaming chaos.

ron can not comprehend
doesn't know how
he can have such an impact
in a storm he takes the world
and in a flurry
he loses sight, for the lights are in his eyes.
he looks, searches, finds the place he needs to be.
he stands there, but it is not enough...
he must move, never stopping, always bopping
from here to there, testing the body.
one foot... go!  other foot... go!  now turn!

this is ron, a mind within a body
a mind that becomes self aware
and took over a body named john.
