under steamy starlit skies
a hidden rainbow swiftly flies
the unspoken word, it lies
and hides the truth in me.

swimming through an empty land
reaching for the open hand
there together they stand
alone to face the world.

searching in the deepest night
keeping straight wrong from right
opening with all my might
a lonely treasure meant for me.

the dusty shadow of looming guilt
a crumbling tower which i built
the precious petal about to wilt
an invisible tether unfurled.
